Molar Extraction & Deep Cleaning necessary before they can fix my front tooth ?
Hello, I really need help and I am confused. I’m a german girl, married to an US Soldier (he’s currently deployed to Iraq) and I have been at the dentist today for the 1st time in the USA. My problem is that I lost a small filling which I had on my front tooth, and it looks very ugly without the filling.
I went to the dentist this morning. They took x-rays before I could even see the doctor, then I told the doctor about my problem and she told me that I would need to go and get 2 back teeth removed (badly broken) and one month after that I would need a deep teeth cleaning for $ 800 (I’d pay $ 260 of it). And then, when all that is done, she can start on working on my teeth… I asked her for a temporary filling for my front tooth but she said that there is cavity in there, and the tooth would probably need a crown, and I need the get all the other things done first.
I don’t understand this. I don’t understand why I need all that expensive work done before she can fix my front tooth ? I know I have to get those 2 bad teeth removed very soon. And I will get that done. But why can she not fix my front tooth now ? I have a job interview next week. I can not go there like this. I am very confused, I can not ask my husband (can’t get a hold of him).
Can anyone help me and tell me if this is all necessary just to fix my front tooth or if this dentist is trying to make money of me ?

I would let your dentist know what you urgency is and explain to him or her your concern. Any dentist will give You a list of things to do,that’s their job but you tell them what you need. If that dentist is not willing to hear you out there will be one out there that will. Be persistent and goodluck!

Can you visit another dentist?
I would tell her that getting the front tooth fixed is on the top of your list. It is your money and your choice what to do first. She can make suggestions but she cant tell you wht you have to do.
